A great "hands on" experience for students in any class, service learning assignments are tailored to your courses, students' learning styles, and teaching methods. Reflection activities before and after the service experience, along with learning assessments, ensure that students connect the service experience to your learning objectives.
Our Services
The coordinators offer the following support for faculty who want to use service learning in their courses:
* Specific service opportunities with vetted community organizations
* Help designing assignments, projects, reflection activities, etc..
* In-class Service Learning orientations for students
* On-site student support
* Waivers, application forms, and instructional materials
* Service Learning workshops/discussion groups for faculty and staff
* Extra- and co-curricular volunteer opportunities on campus, in the community, and around the country
