The Kogod School of Business at American University offers one major, Business Administration, with areas of specialization noted above.  Applicants to the Kogod School of Business from other colleges must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA to be considered competitive for transfer admission.  Applicants with less than 24 transfer credit hours must also provide high school transcripts and SAT I or ACT scores.  A maximum of 60 credit hours may be transferred from a 2-year institution. Only grades of ‘C’ or better may be accepted on transfer.

%  Foreign Language/Cross-cultural Studies:  Kogod students must complete six credit hours of foreign language or approved cross-cultural studies. Students may choose from the following:
       Courses in the School of International Service (SIS) at the 200-level or higher
       SIS-161 Civilizations of Asia
       Courses in the Department of Language and Foreign Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences
       Courses in General Education Area 3: Global and Multicultural Perspectives
       Courses from approved study abroad programs

Please note that the six credit hours of foreign language/cross-cultural studies must be in addition to courses taken to fulfill the AU General Education Program and that study abroad courses may not be used to fulfill more than one requirement.
