College
Search Programs - find this major at four-year institutions anywhere
in the US. Many schools list Business as the
primary major and
Accounting as a specialization within the business major.
-
In general, most four-year
institutions want community college students to fulfill general
education requirements and take only two accounting courses (AC 201
& 202) at
the freshman & sophomore level. Check with the ARTSYS Recommended Transfer Program
page for accounting courses required at Maryland public & private
colleges and universities. For out-of-state institutions, refer to
each school's catalog for information on course selection.
-
Very often, first & second
year students are asked to follow general business requirements as
accounting majors, specializing in accounting courses at the junior and
senior level after transfer.
-
Students can find employment
with the two-year degree in Accounting
from Montgomery College; however, the courses in this program are
NOT intended for transfer to four-year institutions.
