Preparation for the Accuplacer Test

The Accuplacer test you'll take when you enter Montgomery College determines which math course you may take. Depending on your scores, there could be up to three semesters of developmental math courses required prior to taking a college-level course. The test begins with Algebra I (Elementary Algebra/MA 091) skills. Find the Reading/English Practice Page here.

Determine your weak areas from the pretest. Study using the Math Study Web Sites below. Study topics from the first block below, MC Mathematics Department Topics Pages & Final Review pages. Note: Calculators are NOT allowed for the placement test. A "pop-up" calculator will appear in some sections of the test.

MATH STUDY Web Sites Links to on-line tutorial programs for mathematics. Some of the material may not be covered in placement testing; however, becoming familiar with basic mathematical concepts may help you feel more comfortable as you approach the test.
