New Student Orientation

Are you looking for opportunities to:

  • Learn more about resources, services and people available at Montgomery College (MC) to help you capitalize on your MC experience?
  • Tour academic and student services?
  • Learn about special programs that MC has to offer and a broad range of First Year Experience options.
  • Participate with faculty, students, and staff, in informal social, intellectual, and wellness experiences outside of the classroom?
  • Locate practical guidelines for understanding current college issues and support for parental role adjustments?
  • Have fun while learning?

A New Student Orientation (NSO) is held just prior to the beginning of each fall and spring semester to help every student get quickly acclimated to the MC environment. Whether you are a returning adult, full or part-time student, participating in NSO is highly recommended! Parent or family members are welcome. Formats and schedules are different at Germantown (G), Rockville (R) and Takoma Park (TP) campuses. We look forward to seeing you!

At the Rockville Campus you may select from a broad range of “getting connected” activities and presentations such as: the NSO Fair; Workshops on faculty expectations; Parental involvement; Financial planning; Academic advising; Career services and more. Plan to check-out student-faculty panel discussions; hear a welcome from the Dean of Students or college history and updates from the campus Vice-President/Provost. While you’re on campus take a moment to meet and greet at the refreshment stations. Raffles, limited campus tours are provided on a first come first served bases and department “Open Houses,” are available.
