The

WSSC

water

wastewater
profession,

Scholarship
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Be a current student at an accredited US community college or two-year institution with sophomore status by December 31, 2008, or a recent graduate (since spring 2004).
- Plan to enroll full-time in a baccalaureate program at an accredited college or university in fall 2009.
- Have a cumulative undergraduate grade-point average of 3.50 or better on a scale of 4.0 (or the equivalent).
- Be nominated by his or her two-year institution.
- Have unmet financial need.
- Have not previously been nominated for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship.
While the Foundation considers academic excellence first in evaluating candidates, competitive applicants must also demonstrate unmet financial need.
Award
Each award covers a portion of educational expenses, including tuition, living expenses, required fees, and books for the final two to three years of the baccalaureate degree.
The amount and duration of awards vary by student
based on the cost of attendance and the length of the program as well as other scholarships or grants received. The maximum available per student is
$30,000 per year. This is the largest scholarship offered in the US to community college transfer students.

Students interested in this scholarship must be nominated by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Faculty Representative at their institutions.

Scholarships
are
available
beginning
with
the
fall
2004
semester.
Students
must
study
full
time
in
the
Women's
College
and
meet
the
College's
standard
admissions
requirements
to
be
eligible
for
the
scholarship.
College
of
Notre
Dame
is
establishing
this
program
for
transfer
students
as a
way
to
further
the
college's
mission
of
educating
women.
The
new
transfer
scholarships
make
receiving
a
Notre
Dame
education
more
accessible
and
affordable.
Students
from
community
colleges
are
also
eligible
for
two
new
additional
scholarships.
Learn
for
Life
Transfer
Scholarships,
up
to
12
half-tuition
scholarships,
will
be
awarded
each
year
on a
competitive
basis
to
EXceptional
TRAnsfers
Scholars.
A
Presidential
Transfer
Scholarship,
one
full-tuition
scholarship,
will
also
be
awarded
to
an
EXceptional
TRAnsfers
Scholar
each
academic
year.

Regents
Scholarships
-
University
System
of
Maryland
The
Regents
Scholarships
will
provide
financial
assistance
for
the
full
cost
of
in-state
tuition
and
mandatory
fees
as
well
as
living
expenses
(comparable
to
on-campus
room
and
board)
and
a
book
stipend
for
students
attending
on a
full-time
basis.
The
partial
scholarships
will
provide
financial
support
ranging
from
$2500-3500
per
year
for
students
demonstrating
need.
Any
student
nominated
for
a
Regents
Scholarship
will
automatically
be
included
in
the
review
for
the
partial
scholarships.
By
maintaining
the
appropriate
academic
standing,
the
Regents
Scholars
may
receive
this
generous
support
for
two
years
(four
semesters).
Each
community
college
president
may
nominate
no
more
than
three
transfer
students
for
the
Regents
Scholarships,
according
to
the
criteria. Documentation
to
be
provided
by
the
community
college
includes
the
college's
nomination,
the
student's
transcript,
a
completed
scholarship
application,
and
two
letters
of
recommendation
from
community
college
faculty/staff.
Documentation
to
be
provided
by
the
student
includes
a
personal
statement,
a
resume,
unofficial
copies
of
transcripts
from
all
institutions
attended,
and
two
items
that
provide
evidence
of
scholarly
and
creative
activities.
The
documentation
from
the
community
college
or
the
student
may
be
sent
via
email,
fax
or
hardcopy.
