| Montgomery
College encourages students to get involved and connected with
campus life by participating in Office of Student Life programming
opportunities.
Research
provides evidence that the development of personal qualities such as
the ability to get along with others, follow through on tasks,
effective oral and written communication, and student retention are
directly correlated with a student's involvement in a college
student life program.
Montgomery
College provides a wide variety of educational, social, cultural,
and recreational opportunities, activities and events. These include
lecture series, film series, cultural events, media productions,
musical attractions, theatre and dance productions, leadership
workshops, student governance, student newspaper, and many other
experiences. In addition, students involved in special interest
clubs or organizations coordinate and implement these programs for
the campus and community.
Student Life
also offers training in leadership development. In experiential
learning programs, students develop and practice skills and
creativity to attain group goals.
