GO
VISIT!
COUNSELOR:
So,
you're transferring to Towson in the fall - what do you think of
the campus? STUDENT:
Well, I haven't been there
yet, but my friends love it...
This scenario is all too
common...students need to make time to visit the campus where
they'll be spending their next several years earning a bachelor's
degree. Each campus has its own particular personality - and
what appeals to one student may not appeal to another. The
campus visit is a critical part of the decision-making process.
And this means visiting while classes are in session, not just
visiting friends who live there on the weekend!
Every campus admissions office
has tours for prospective students. Some are tailored to
transfer students in particular - ask!
These two articles offer
excellent points to consider while visiting a campus:

On-Line Tours:
An ADDITIONAL source of information is an
on-line tour (not to be used in PLACE of a campus visit!).
These websites have free still-picture tours and video tours of
campuses. Remember, the personal visit is best, but these
on-line tours can help refresh your memory as you compare campuses
when you get home.

Where Will an AAS Go?
Students who take
technical "career programs" majors at MC have two local options if
they decide to continue on for a bachelor's degree.
Bowie State University - Shady Grove

Bachelor of Science in Technology
- The B.S. in Technology can
be earned at night and on the weekends at the Shady Grove campus in
Rockville. The B.S. in Technology is an inverted 2+2 program; students
entering the program must have completed an associate's degree. The
program adds liberal arts electives designed to strengthen student's
writing, reasoning, and human relation skills and a core of upper level
courses in the student's majors.
