The purpose of our club is:
- To get involved in the community
- To get others involved in the community
- To plan events and offer service opportunities to all MC Germantown Students
- To learn about our community and what we can do to make it better
When you start to get involved you never know where it can lead you. You all being here is a great thing and will not only build an outstanding resume, it can also change your life.
Global Homelessness Awareness Day
- October 21, 2009 – Set up day SA 104 4:00pm
- We will be creating cardboard signs (modeled after signs that homeless people hold) stating different countries/communities and their homelessness statistics. We will be duct taping the signs to sticks and placing them around campus on the 28th.
- What to start doing now:
- Collecting cardboard boxes and sticks we can use to make signs and bring them to the set up
- Researching homelessness statistics for the country/community of your choice.
- October 28, 2009 – Homelessness Awareness Day (MC Germantown Quad area outside HS building) All day Event
- Set up – 7:00am-9:00am
- Place signs and set up tent
- Spread the word – any time 9:00am to 6:00 pm
- Hand out post cards about things people can do to help the situation (advertizing follow up events)
