SYLLABUS

The purpose of the course is to acquaint the student with landscape design and planing design projects through the use of five residential design problems which include site grading, hardscape design, landscape planting design, plant lists, cost estimates and budgets.

BORDER GARDEN PLANTING PLANS A. Based on size only. B. Based on orientation. C. Based on color and flowering sequence.

COURTYARD GARDEN PLANTING PLAN - Size, orientation, color, and flowering sequence.

PLANT MATERIAL ANALYSIS AND REPORTS - Size, shape, flowering, orientation, soil, availability, and landscape use - shade and flowering trees, deciduous and evergreen shrubs, groundeover and vines, and perennials.

SMALL SCALE RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE PLAN - Plant list, quantity, sizes, and cost estimate.

JURY ON RESIDENCE & ONE POINT PERSPECTIVE SKETCHES.

HARDSCAPE & SITE GRADING DESIGN PROJECT
