Each of these questions takes you to a different page on the WWW.  All pages except the last one are part of the Occupational Outlook Handbook.  To complete this tutorial, read the question in the box, go to the underlined question to find your answer, write your answer in the box, then close the WWW site which will take you back to the tutorial.

Step 4  Do a search.  Select one occupation and multiple geographic areas.  Then search for a state in which you would like to live.  Write the occupation, state and one fact that you learned about the projections for that occupation in the box below.

Step 13 Under Occupational Rankings, select one type of ranking and your educational goal. What occupation is on the top of the list for that state?

Step 14 Return to the State Profile Page and search for the largest employer. Who is the largest employer in your state?

Step 15 Return to the State Profile page and select the State Resources hyperlink. Go into one of the listed sites. What did you find there?

Step 16 To print or save a copy of your answers:

  • Open a word processing or text editing program

  • Select all information within the results window.  One way to do this is to put your cursor at the beginning of the text, depress the left mouse button, and drag the highlighting to the end of the text area.  Release the mouse button.  All text should be highlighted.  Note: If you cannot find your answers, look at the bottom of your browser window and select the results button.

  • Copy this information by selecting the Control button on your keyboard, then select the letter C

  • Go to the previously opened word processing or text editing document.  Look for it at the bottom of your browser window and click on the button to maximize that document.

  • Place your cursor in the upper left corner of the page.

  • Paste your questions and answers onto the empty document by selecting the Control button on your keyboard, then select the letter V

  • Your answers are now ready for printing or saving by either selecting file then print or selecting file then save as.
