What do I need to know or do Prior to Registration?

Office of Distance Learning

Steps Resources Need More Help?
Step 1

Apply to the college and follow all steps that relate to your situation listed on the Easy Steps to Enrollment page.

Online courses have the same requirements as on campus courses at MC.

Email a Distance Learning Counselor camille.andrews@montgomerycollege.edu
Step 2 Go to the online college catalog to learn more about courses and majors available at MC Email a Distance Learning Counselor camille.andrews@montgomerycollege.edu
Step 3 Select your online course from this semester's schedule of classes. Select proper semester from left side of Distance Learning Homepage This provides a list of all Blended and Online courses offered in a particular semester. Select the link to the left of the course title to get more information about the course

Email the instructor for additional information about the course by selecting the link to the right of the course title

Step 4

Go to MyMC (linked at top of MC Homepage), make sure the course is still open, and complete the online registration process.

If a course is filled, the only person who can give you permission to register is the instructor of that class. See Step 3 above to find your instructor's email address.

The Distance Learning Counselor is willing to complete the override process at a distance. Forward the email granting you permission to enroll in a full course to camille.andrews@montgomerycollege.edu

That email will need to include:

Student's Name
Last 4 digits of student SS#
CRN of the course
Semester (Summer 1, Summer 2, Fall, Spring)
The email must be no more than 3 days old.

*At Rockville, you will need to take this email to the counselor's office for a stamp.

If you can't gain access to MyMC, contact the Help Desk 240-567-7222 after viewing the tutorials on the MyMC website or the tutorials at the bottom of this page.
