The Online Advisor… We welcome the opportunity to assist you through online advising.  Online advising is generally best suited to questions about concrete, specific issues.  For complex issues and for all students who would prefer to see a counselor/advisor in person, come to one of our campus Counseling Centers. http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/Departments/studev/counselingandadvising.html Answers to questions can be found on our Frequently Asked Advising Questions (FAQ) site. Guidelines to keep in mind when e-mailing an advisor:

To protect your privacy, do not include your social security number with your e-mail question.

Provide relevant information, such as your major or intended major, where you intend to transfer, and any career ideas you might have in order to assist us in answering your question.

Be as specific as you can. The more vague your question, the harder it will be to give you a useful answer via e-mail.

Allow a reasonable amount of time for an advisor to reply. We try to respond to each request within 24 hours, but during heavy advising times (before each semester) it might be a little longer.
