  • Professor Ijeoma Ogtibuo has written a lab manual for use in Microbiology with Janice Keyser entitled, Introductory Microbiology: An Inquiry-Based Laboratory Manual. This manual provides inquiry-based activities that link theory and application. The activities will broaden student knowledge and provide the foundation necessary to turn students into productive members of today’s scientific community. The well-received manual is currently in use in our microbiology classes.

  • Newly published author and professor Gail Jenkins was featured in a Washington Times article about clothing for cold weather called “Hot Couture for Frigid Forecasts.”  She talked about what happens to the body when hypothermia sets in. Gail was quoted with only two other “experts” – one from the CDC in Atlanta and another from NIH, which is great company for Gail and the College. The reporter enjoyed speaking with Gail, which was very evident in the five or so paragraphs that featured Gail’s quotes and ideas.  They even managed to get in a plug for the anatomy classes at the TP/SS Campus and Gail’s new anatomy and physiology textbook, “From Science to Life.”
