About
The Up county Libraries Roundtable (ULR) is an informal network of libraries located in the north and western part of Montgomery County, Maryland. This area is referred to locally as “the Upcounty”. The ULR includes public, academic, government, medical, and school libraries. The group meets annually to discuss issues of importance to the member libraries and their institutions. It provides opportunities for cooperation among librarians located near to each other geographically, although working in different types of libraries. The four largest participating institutions are the Shady Grove Center of the University of Maryland, Montgomery College, the Montgomery County Public Schools, and the Montgomery County Public Libraries.

The mission of the Upcounty Libraries Roundtable is to facilitate resource sharing, advocate for member libraries, and be a mechanism for local librarians to communicate and collaborate.

Membership is voluntary and informal. A directory of libraries whose staff has attended is linked at the top of this page, along with minutes of past meetings. For more information, contact Diane Cockrell at the Germantown Campus library, Montgomery College at diane.cockrell@montgomerycollege.edu.
