    ALA Washington Office
    The Washington office established in 1945 consists of the Office of Government Relations (OGR) and the Office for Information Technology Policy (OITP). The OGR is a link for ALA members to contact the federal legislators regarding issues affecting libraries and information services to the public. The OITP advocates for the development of the use of electronic access to information. The OITP addresses topics such as equity access, copyright, and e-books.

    This site provides information regarding bills, committee assignments, budget hearings, and legislator contact information.

    Legislative Information on the Internet
    Information regarding federal legislation, access to the Congressional Record, congressional committees, and contact information.
