This year’s conference will culminate with the presentation of the Award for Outstanding Achievement in American Literature to Elmore Leonard, acclaimed novelist and screenwriter.  Mr. Leonard’s extensive body of work includes Get Shorty, Out of Sight, “3:10 to Yuma”, The Bounty Hunters, Bandits, and 10 Rules of Writing, among others.

The day-long conference is a rare opportunity for area writers and lovers of literature to meet and work with some of the best instructors and professionals in the writing world today. This year features panels and all new workshops that offer advice on screen adaptation, nonfiction style, the editor/author relationship and straight talk from publishers.  Workshops on Short Fiction, Memoir, the Novel, and Poetry, will be led by authors new to the F. Scott Fitzgerald Conference, including Nani Power, Susan Muaddi Darraj, Dave Housley, and A.M. Juster.
