UMBC is known for

A top research university with a national reputation, UMBC is a place

exceptional resources, stimulating teachers and individual attention.
Students who begin their
college education at Montgomery College (MC) with plans to transfer to
UMBC to complete a 4-year degree may be eligible to participate in
the Transfer Student Alliance (TSA) Program.
MC students who have
completed 12 credits with a minimum 3.2 GPA are eligible for consideration
for the TSA Program.
All TSA participants will be
extended special benefits including:
Access to UMBC/USG
facilities and campus services including libraries and computer
Participation in student
activities including cultural
and recreational opportunities.
Access to UMBC academic
Concurrent enrollment at
a 25% tuition discount for one UMBC
course per term (not to exceed a total of three
SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS for Transfer in Fall
2008, TSA PARTICIPANTS
admission to UMBC.
housing upon initial matriculation at UMBC (students may re-contract
for housing for subsequent years of study).
A $1,500 merit
scholarship for each of two years of full-time study - this benefit
begins for students who transfer to UMBC in the Fall of 2008 and
REQUIREMENTS - for MC Students who Transfer to UMBC Fall 2008 and
Complete an associates
degree with a minimum cumulative 3.5 composite-GPA within four
years of initial program qualification.
UMBC or in a
program at the Universities at Shady Grove within one
year of completion of the associate degree.
Must not matriculate at
any other institution of higher education after program acceptance.
HOW TO ENROLL
for the TSA Program are accepted on a rolling basis. High school seniors
and first semester college freshmen are encouraged to complete one at
any time. For participation in the program benefits (access to
facilities, advising resources, campus events and reduced tuition
courses), please be sure to submit a form by the following dates:
