DRAWING

The art of reflecting forms and figures on surface by means of lines.

FILMMAKING/VIDEO

The art and process of making motion pictures.

PAINTING

The art of laying on paints with a brush or a knife.

PHOTOGRAPHY
The process, art and technique of taking images recorded

by camera and reproducing them on a photosensitive surface.

SCULPTURE

The art of making three-dimensional figures or designs.
DRAWING
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Only one (1) project can be submitted.

2. Easels will be provided by the national office.

3. The contestant is required to make an oral presentation, which will not exceed three

    (3) minutes, explaining the methods or techniques used in developing the project.

    (Mounting and Matting are strongly recommended).

4. The submission should be no larger that 36 inches x 48 inches, but not necessarily framed.

5. The oral presentation must not exceed three (3) minutes.

6. There contestant must be available answer questions from the judges.



Drawing Projects Will Be Judged By The Following Criteria:



  • Composition

  • Line/Form

  • Presentation

  • Technique/Craftsmanship

  • Theme
FILMMAKING/VIDEO
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Only one (1) film is to be entered.

2. The running time of the film must not exceed five (5) minutes.

3. Only 8mm film is to be used.

4. An 8mm projector will be provided.

5. A storyboard or project theme must be associated with the film.

1. Only one (1) video tape is to be entered.

2. The running time for the video tape must not exceed (5) minutes.

3. One-half inch (1/2) VHS color or black and white video tape must be used.

4. A video tape playback unit will be provided.

5. A storyboard or project theme must be associated with the video.
All Film And Video Projects Will Be Judged By The Following Criteria:
I. Technical
a. Use of camera

b. Use of lighting

c. Use of audio
II. Editing

       a. Use of effects and graphics

       b. Juxtaposition of scenes

       c. Audio effects
III. Artistic
a. Ability of talent

b. Scripting or teleplay

c. Lighting effects

d. Blending of technical effects with the artistic.

PAINTING
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Only one (1) project can be entered.

2. Easels will be provided by the national office.

4. The contestant must be available to answer questions from the judges.

5. The submission should be no longer than 36 inches x 48 inches and must be finished

    but not necessarily framed.
Painting Projects Will Be Judged By The Following Criteria:
  • Color

  • Composition

  • Craft

  • Line/Form

  • Theme
PHOTOGRAPHY
REQUIREMENTS:

1. No more than six (6) photographs can be submitted or one (1) collage of work.

2. The photographs must be uniformly mounted using the same color boards.

3. The photographs and/or mounting boards must be no larger than 20x16 inches.

    Only smooth white, black, or gray color boards can be used.

4. The contestant is required to make an oral presentation, which will not exceed

    three (3) minutes, explaining the methods or techniques used in developing the project.

5. Display tables will be provided by the national office.

Photography Projects Will Be Judged By The Following Criteria:

 • Choice of film (e.g. black and white or color slide or color negative)

 • Cleanness

 • Composition

 • Effective use of light

 • Mounting of photographs
SCULPTURE
REQUIREMENTS:

1. Only one (1) project can be entered.

2. Easels and display tables space will be provided by the national office.

3. Each contestant is required to make an oral presentation explaining the

    methods of techniques used in developing the project.

4. Oral presentations must not exceed three (3) minutes.



NOTE: Craft projects (i.e. ceramics, macramé, etc.) will not be accepted.
Sculpture Projects Will Be Judged By The Following Criteria:

  • Concept

  • Composition

  • Craftsmanship

  • How well the medium was applied

  • 3-Dimensional Form
