This course is Web based. Instruction is provided via videos which are available at… http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/algebra by clicking on the topic you wish to study. Use the link that says “Homework by Homework Video Menu.”
Homework Assignments…
Homework is completed & submitted online using Math XL. Each student is responsible for purchasing this software & adding themselves to the class roster.
There are 2 options for purchasing access to MathXL.
o Purchase the MathXL
Online Access Code Packet at any
OR
o Go directly to www.mathxl.com,
click on Buy Now, and follow the instructions. This method will
require a valid credit card to complete the purchase. The zip (postal)
code for
Students also need to run the MathXL “installation wizard” in order to do homework problems online.
For ANY credit, corresponding homework must be submitted BEFORE each test is taken.

Tests…
Tests are taken in the
One of the key features of this (or any) Distance learning course is flexibility of schedule. Class videos can be watched anywhere at any day & time and tests can be taken on any day & time that the assessment center is open. In order to finish on time, however, a student needs to view (& complete homework for) approximately 5-7 class videos a week AND take a test approximately every two weeks.
Please let me know when you have completed a test so that I can promptly pick it up and grade it so you can get your feedback!
There
will be a comprehensive final, which will allow you to demonstrate mastery of
the course material. Arrangements will be made individually, but it must be
taken on or before July 20. You need to let me know that you are ready to take
it, and I will make sure it is available for you in the
