Dr. Louis G. Chacos, Coach ’58 -’83, was nationally recognized as one of the
best Junior College football coaches in the country. He received numerous awards including
a Governor’s Citation in 1988 and was named Coach of the Year by his peers for
several years during his tenure at Montgomery College.
Dr. Chacos’ contributions to MC were not solely associated with football. He
played an instrumental role in promoting outstanding athletic and educational programs by
establishing college-level Physical Education courses, and assisting with the design of
the Physical Education Building and swimming pool at the Rockville Campus.
