Now you can become an advocate for Montgomery College!
Just go to
http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/legislative/ and
all the information you'll need to become an effective voice for MC will be at
your fingertips! Budget times are tough, and MC is not immune to state and
county cuts, so your help is needed now more than ever. Let your voice be
heard and help MC continue to provide the same excellent academic services
that it has provided for the past 57 years.
Your letters and e-mails do make a difference! If you have
any questions about advocacy for the College, contact the MC Alumni Office,
alumni@mc.cc.md.us

Can we count on your support? Please make your donation
today.
Largest
on-line donation in month of April will win four tickets to Orioles game!
We have a new contest for on-line
donors! The largest on-line gift during the month of April, 2003
will win four (4) tickets to a home game (at Camden Yards) of the Baltimore
Orioles vs. the Detroit Tigers. The game will be played on Wednesday, May 7,
starting at 3:05 p.m. Seating will be in a lower field box location between
home plate and the dug out along the first-base line. Winner will be notified
on May 1, 2003.
Your Annual
Fund support has never been more critical than it is
today. Montgomery College has recently learned that the major state
and county reductions we have been anticipating for some time are upon us.
This devastating blow to our funding comes at a time when our enrollment is
growing at a phenomenal rate.
If you would like to do what you can to improve this difficult situation, the
annual fund is the place to direct your gift. Your Annual Fund
donation will send immediate assistance to where the need is greatest, such as
urgent scholarship relief, funds for state-of-the-art equipment and
technology, building renovation needs, faculty/curricula enhancements, and
other critical programs. These are the very areas that are facing the dire
consequences of the recent budget cuts.
We need an additional $40,357
if we are to reach our annual fund goal of $96,875 by June 30, 2003. We count
on you to
show your
support of the College by donating to the Annual Fund.

Montgomery College
Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable
organization, and all contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent
as provided by law.

walls, or decks. Bring a pencil and your vision!

2003)
When: Saturday, April 12, 2003, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Montgomery College's
Germantown Campus celebrates its
25th anniversary of academic excellence this
year! A number of events and activities are being planned to celebrate this
milestone now through October, 2003. The first classes were held on the

Campus alumni will be invited to attend MC's Commencement Ceremony on Friday,
May 23, and a special table will be set aside in the area of the food tent for
Germantown Campus alumni to meet and reminisce after
the commencement ceremony concludes. To view a schedule of upcoming

How do
words, symbols, and rhetoric used by politicians and the press shape our
perceptions of a conflict? This question and more will be addressed at

International Conflict." The forum will be held on Tuesday, April 22,

Take
Note.....There are still some certainties in today's fluctuating financial markets. A
Planned Gift to Montgomery College will not only provide a
solid financial investment to a donor but also
guarantee a future of opportunities to
Montgomery College students. Planned
gifts may be
directed toward the support of scholarships, program and faculty development,
capital improvements, and many other educational enhancements. Gifts of this
nature help ensure that Montgomery College will continue to provide
educational opportunities to all who seek them regardless of financial status. At
the same time, such gifts can provide a donor with many financial benefits
such as charitable tax deductions and fixed annual payments. To learn more
about planned giving options, please
call the Director of Development at Montgomery College, Ms. Kayran Moore at
240-567-7493.
