For the
first time in over 25 years, the
Takoma Park Campus of Montgomery College will be opening a new building.
There will be an open house for the new Health Sciences Building
on Saturday, January 31 from 9 a.m. - Noon, and the public is invited. This
state-of-the-art building is located at 7977 Georgia Avenue, only a few blocks
away from the Discovery Communications building
and the AFI Silver Theatre. The
Health Sciences Center will house a variety of allied health programs, a
community clinic operated by Holy Cross
Hospital, and a Business Training Center to serve the workforce
development needs of local businesses. For more information, call

On Tuesday, January 6 at 8 p.m. the
Russian National Ballet will perform Swan Lake at the
Parilla
Performing Arts Center on the
Rockville Campus of Montgomery
College. The Russian National Ballet was founded in Moscow during
the transitional period of Perestroika in the late 1980s and is dedicated to
the timeless tradition of classical Russian ballet and invigorating this
tradition with new developments in dance from around the world. The company of
50 incorporates graduates from the great Russian choreographic schools of
Moscow, St. Petersburg and Perm, as well as principle dancers from the upper
ranks of the Bolshoi and Kirov, the Stanislavsky Ballet, and the companies of
Riga, Kiev, and even Warsaw. Today, the company focuses on upholding the
storied national tradition of the major Russian ballet works with a repertory
that embraces all of the great, full works of Petipa which includes
Swan
Lake.
Tickets are $34; $32 for seniors

The MC Alumni Association will be holding two separate reunions for MC
alumni and friends in Florida during January. On Thursday, January
22, a reception for alumni and friends of the College will be held in
Winterhaven, Florida; and on Sunday, January 25, a reunion will be held in the
Orlando area. For more information about either reunion and how you can

Singer, songwriter, and MC alum Tori
Amos has released her new album, Tales of a Librarian. This
collection is an amazing 2-Disk CD/DVD compilation that Tori describes as her
musical "autobiography." The Album features 20 songs that document a career

Computer game development
is fun
, but more importantly it is a
rapidly growing high-tech industry.
MC
professors Deborah Solomon (Computer Applications), Bradley Kaldahl
(Computer Publishing and Printing) and Mike Cantwell (Computer Graphics) have
created a new certificate for those who wish to explore this exciting new
technology.

blue
for the Spring 2004 semester….beginning January 26, the white with blue and
orange-striped
Campus Connector shuttle bus will be a blue, RIDE ON shuttle
bus saying "Route 127."
Students,

College reaches
out to the community, offering educational and cultural opportunities for all

Association has announced that the campus room-usage
discount available to alumni association members will be discontinued
effective January 1, 2004. Please
understand that this decision was made based on budgetary constraints the
College is facing. All of the other
great benefits
offered to association members will remain in effect. Joining the MC Alumni
