| Summer
Internships |
| At the end of the first academic
year, students will place into one of several paid
internships. A total of 10 such Internships will be provided
by the University of Maryland, through its highly
successful BIOMAP program, and the University of
Maryland Baltimore County, in conjunction, with its
Pre-MARC program. Commitments for additional internships have
been obtained from four local biotechnology companies, Celera Genomics,
Inc., LifeTime Pharmaceuticals, AnthroTronix, Inc., and The Institute of
Genomic Research. | |

| In addition, Montgomery College is
partnering with area universities and local biotechnology firms to
provide Biomedical Scholars with paid research internship
opportunities during the summers following their first and second
years at MC.* These positions will offer the exciting and invaluable
experience of working in state-of-the-art laboratories where cutting
edge research in the life sciences is being conducted. Commitments
for more than 20 such internships have already been obtained from
the above hyper linked
institutions. |
