My name is Paola Delgadillo and I graduated from Northwest H.S. I am currently in the Biomedical Scholars Program hoping to pursue a career in the biomedical sciences. This program has made my life in college so much easier. It has been a wonderful guide in my first year in college. It also provided me with a paid internship at Virion Systems, a biotechnology company. Virion focuses on the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases such as RSV, Influenza, and now STI's such as Herpes Simplex Virus, type 1 and 2. I work mostly with HSV splinting cells and infecting them with the herpes virus, and performing many DNA Extractions, running PCR's and gels. It has been an exciting hands on experience.
