Course Description

Development of touch keyboarding skills. Covers the touch operation of alphabetic, numeric, and symbol keys with emphasis on development of a basic, usable skill. No production of documents is included. This course is recommended for all students. For computation of tuition, this course is equivalent to one semester hour. One hour lecture each week (no credit)

Goals and/or Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to

• Development and enhancement of non-technical skills
  • Speak and write about the course topics with sufficient proficiency
  • Apply critical thinking to a variety of topics in the course
• Keyboarding basics
  • Input alphanumeric and symbol information by touch typing
  • Keyboard information at a rate of 25 gross words per minute with a two-error per minute maximum
