Wingding   CATALOG DESCRIPTION Wingding

  This course, first in a two-semester sequence intended for natural science majors, covers the molecular and cellular basis of life, enzymes, photosynthesis, cell respiration, genetics, reproduction, and development. (NSLD). Four semester hours.

Wingding   COURSE PREREQUISITES Wingding

  There are no prerequisites, but there are assessment levels: EN 101/101A, MA 100/101/103, RD 120 or higher.

These textbooks provide a general overview of the ecology of the Chesapeake Watershed and may help you to develop a strong basic working knowledge of the ecological issues and wildlife associated with the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

Wingding   ONLINE REQUIREMENTS Wingding

  This course consists of 15 "Modules" which will be released approximately weekly. The modules should be completed in order. Each module consists of goals, relevant text readings, glossary terms and Internet links to key course concepts. The material in the module's links provides key concepts in alternative visual formats, which can enhance your understanding of the course content. There is also a required laboratory meeting each week. Additional points can be earned by taking online quizzes associated with the lecture and laboratory materials.

Your course grade will be based on the following:

Lecture: 3 exams at 100 points each
  1 exam at 200 points
    Total: 500 points
     
Lab: 2 practical exams at 150 points each
    Total: 300 points
Lab Quizzes & Assignments: 40 points
Genetics/Mathbench Asssignments 60 poins
   
Total: 900 points

  Technological ability to access Internet, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and/or Adobe Acrobat documents and to create documents in either Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format is needed.
