Respite Child Care for the Single Parent Conference

The Single Parent Conference is offering free respite care for children ages 4 to 8, of Montgomery County residents and Montgomery College students. Activities will be offered that are geared to keep children engaged and comfortable while parents participate in the conference workshop sessions.

Respite care will be provided by White House Nannies, Inc. Space is limited, and children will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must sign up for respite care by July 15 or until respite care is full. Respite care registrations will not be accepted the day of the conference.

When you register for the conference, indicate on the registration form whether you will require respite care for your children. You will then be contacted by the respite care provider to complete your respite care registration. Parents must complete the White House Nannies, Inc. Authorization Release and Montgomery College Respite Care Release form, including a cell phone number that is available to you during the conference. We will call you by cell if your child needs your attention or if any concerns arise.

Please note that this is not a licensed child care facility. We will be using a large conference room at Montgomery College that, although safe, is not a developmentally appropriate facility for child care. Our professional respite care providers are responsible and capable of caring for children and will do their best to keep the children safe. Since we are not providing licensed child care, parents will be expected to read and sign the Respite Care consent/agreement form in order to participate.

The respite care room will close immediately after the last workshop. Parents are responsible for providing a snack for children. You will need to pick up your child/children before picking up your lunch.
