1. Send me an e-mail telling me which "client side" e-mail software you use at home or work - either Netscape Messenger or Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. You should have one or the other -- even if you don't know it!
2. Netscape Messenger If you have Netscape Navigator installed on your Personal Computer (PC) at home, you at least have Netscape Messenger. It 's Free! See:
Microsoft Outlook Express. Microsoft Outlook or MS Outlook Express also is a free client-side e-mail software program packaged with Microsoft Internet Explorer. You can pull up the program in one of two ways.
If the IE browser is open, Click Go>Mail, and Outlook Express will start.
Secondly, click Start>Programs>Internet Explorer>Outlook Express.
3. Due July 28, 2003!
A. Signature File. Establish a signature file for either your internet-based account (if possible) or the e-mail account you use at work or home. Determine from your program how to use the signature file.
B. Sub-Folder. Establish a sub-folder to hold classmate's messages from your new Internet-Based email account. Call the folder CA172, for example. Determine if you can set up a "rule" to have certain messages automatically sent to this sub-folder if they contain a certain address or a certain word or phrase.
C. Sending Email. Send at least one email to me and to a classmate from your new internet email account.
