Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program

The Federal Work-Study Program provides an opportunity for students to earn money to help pay education related expenses. The program is designed to allow students to work on or off campus in a field related to your course of study. Federal Work-Study is a need-based financial aid program, therefore you must apply for Federal financial aid in order to qualify.

Pay rates per hour range from $7.00 for on-campus employment and $9.00 for off-campus community service employment. FWS earnings are taxable, however, the amount a student earns in this program can be deducted from their income when applying for financial aid the next year.

Job openings are posted outside the Financial Aid Office and in the Career and Transfer Center on campus. Once you are hired by a employer on or off campus, there may be additional forms to complete.

Student Assistant Program (SA)

This program is designed for those students who do not qualify for the Federal Work Study program. Students work on campus in various locations and have the same salary range as on campus Federal Work Study students. Positions in the Student Assistant program are available based on the level of College funding.
