Since 1986, the Montgomery College Foundation Golf and Tennis Classic has generated almost $1 million for the foundation to support student scholarships and programs that make Montgomery College relevant to the students and communities it serves. Your participation in this event guarantees financial aid to students in need and supports programs that help students reach their educational goals. This event is sponsored by the Montgomery College Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization governed by business, alumni, and community leaders to support the mission and vision of Montgomery College. We hope to see you at the event again this year.

Lakewood Country Clubnew window is the host of the 34th Annual Montgomery College Foundation Golf and Tennis Classic. The club first opened in 1959 with legendary golfer Sam Snead stepping to the first tee, challenged by U.S. Open and Master's Champion Arnold Palmer during the grand unveiling of Lakewood's new golf course. In 1965, Lakewood served as the host for a $50,000 Challenge Match that featured Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Deanne Beman, Bill Campbell and Dale Morey. During the 1970s and 1980s, Lakewood enhanced its solid reputation with a series of improvements and upgrades to its club, tennis, pool, and golf operations, and in 2003, world-renowned golf course architect Rees Jones lead the renovation of Lakewood's golf course. Today, Lakewood is a welcoming destination for the recreational and dining enjoyment of members, their family, and guests. It is a sought-after venue for regional, state and national golf events.
