Career Transitions Seminar CMP#209
This course will develop skills in changing careers, upgrading career skills, or making a transition to a new business or technology career. Modeled after Montgomery College’s TechLEAP and WebLEAP career seminars, this course offers instruction and counseling to students considering career transitions.
Through seminars, lectures, practice sessions and individual counseling and advice, this course will instruct students in writing effective resumes, skills lists and portfolios; developing successful interview skills and techniques; using “traditional” search and Internet research, resume posting and distribution methods; skills development and preparation; course selection, training and degree programs at area colleges, universities, and training centers.
Individual counseling and advising sessions will be available to students in addition to class seminars.
Textbook: Books may be purchased at the MC Bookstore Rockville, or online. You will need to know the CMP# for the class you are taking in order to look up information about the textbook. Please bring your textbook to the first class session.
