Explore the Windows XP desktop operating system and the new versatile 2007 versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Begin the journey by learning how computers process information and how to open, close, manipulate, change and customize Windows XP. Create folders and select, move, copy and search for missing information. Learn how to compose, format, and edit impressive MS Word documents by using Word’s new templates. Build Excel worksheets that analyze data using built-in functions and user defined formulas. Prepare and design dynamic PowerPoint slide presentations. Construct, edit, maintain, organize, secure, and link Access tables to produce and find records.
Textbook: Purchase at the Rockville or Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus Bookstore and bring to first class, along with a USB Flash Drive/memory stick (at least 512 MB).
Prerequisite: Computer Basics, Working with Windows XP or Working with Vista, Introduction to Keyboarding or Keyboarding Refresher or equivalent experience.
