Fine Art Printing of Digital Photographs, ITI-200
A photograph is not finished until you print it! Students interested in learning fine art printing of digital photographs will learn what hardware and software is necessary. Print drivers, color calibration profiles and hardware as well as printing techniques using various paper types will be explained, used and demonstrated. Students will be encouraged to print several of their own photos in this class. This course is taught on iMacs although requirements for Windows computers are also covered. Students who have either a Mac or Windows portable are encouraged to bring it to class along with a flash drive.
Prerequisites: Proficiency with file management techniques and familiarity with Lightroom and Photoshop is required.
Number of Hours: 9
At the end of this course students will know how to:
- Question the importance of color profiles in photographic printing
- Apply and generate color profiles to their monitor
- Utilize different paper profiles for photographic printing
- Judge the quality of prints from ink jet printers
