Shopping Cart Software Design - ASP.NET and C# , CMP921
Shopping carts are an essential ingredient of web e-commerce and are important for a web developer's portfolio of skills. This course will teach students how to develop a shopping cart software program and the various elements of a shopping cart using ASP.NET, C# and the Visual Studio.NET editor.
Topics include
- Software program development, solution, and delivery
- Building Web forms including an order page and cart page
- Creating a shopping cart Access database
- Using C# to get (query) data from the database
- View and session states
- Creating classes
- Using local IIS
- Debugging and testing code
- Adding server controls to a Web for
- Validation codes
- Cookies
- URL encoding to pass data between server and client.
This course will include lecture, demonstration, and lab time to develop the software design and construct the shopping cart.
Prerequisite: Programming.NET-Level II, C#, ADO.NET, and ASP.NET Level II or equivalent experience.
Textbook: Purchase at the Rockville Campus Bookstore and bring to first class along with a USB Flash Drive/memory stick (at least 512 MB).
