Ajax Introduction, Level I, CMP904

AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) is a “Web 2.0” development method widely used on commercial web sites. AJAX combines JavaScript, XML, and Cascading Style Sheet technologies to create menus, display content dynamically, and build other interactive web features customized to the user’s selections. Learn the fundamentals of the AJAX framework, and how to make XML databases which interact with AJAX scripting to provide information and rich web site experiences. After taking this course, students will be able to create Ajax-based applications in an efficient and modular way.

Prerequisites: Programming Fundamentals (CMP839) HTML Advanced (CMP056), Dreamweaver Advanced (CMP060) or Cascading Style Sheets (CMP843), and JavaScript (CMP050), or equivalent web scripting/ developer experience.

Technology update: Please bring a Flash Drive/Memory Stick 512MB or larger to class which will enable you to save your class work.
