Creating Personal and Small Business Web Sites, CMP868
Are you interested in creating personal or business Web sites on your own without having to spend a lot of money for software or professional help? In this basic introductory course you will learn how to design Web pages using HTML and free Web authoring tools. Topics will include every phase of the Web design process - planning, designing, and implementing. You will also learn about choosing the right Internet Service Provider (ISP), creating Web accounts, and how to upload Web pages using FTP.
Prerequisites: Working with Windows or file management skills or equivalent experience. Students who take this class may also be interested in Small Business Marketing: Positioning Your Company for Success (SMB953).
Technology update: Please bring a Flash Drive/Memory Stick 512MB or larger to class which will enable you to save your class work.

- Apply learned web design strategies to designing a web site.
- Use free software and HTML to develop the web site.
- Research Internet Service Providers and select a provider to host a web site.
- Upload web pages using FTP.
