Dreamweaver Level III, (Forms) CMP818

This course introduces powerful Dreamweaver features used for establishing database interconnectivity and designing interactive web pages, forms and dynamic forms. Connect forms and web pages to databases from Dreamweaver using MySQL, PHP, and / or Cold Fusion. Other Dreamweaver topics include defining record sets for databases, adding dynamic content and server behaviors, editing database records, and incorporating database information into web sites using Dreamweaver panels, menus, and property inspectors. This course will be taught using small databases with Dreamweaver and an introduction to either PHP or Cold Fusion, depending on the instructor. Examples using Dreamweaver with ASP also are included in the textbook.

Prerequisite: Dreamweaver Advanced (CMP060), basic database knowledge (Access), or equivalent experience. Prior knowledge of PHP or ColdFusion is not required, but some knowledge of programming may be helpful.

Technology update: Please bring a Flash Drive/Memory Stick 512MB or larger to class which will enable you to save your class work.

Books may be purchased at the MC Bookstore or online. You will need to know the CMP#(Continuing Education classes) for the class you are taking in order to look up information about the textbook.

Upon completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Build complex web pages in Dreamweaver.
  2. Understand, practice and apply Dreamweaver interactivity features using layers, behaviors, and the assets panel.
  3. Design commercially usable web forms and understand integrating forms with server-side scripts and programs taught in other courses.
  4. Work with and understand additional features in Dreamweaver's Behaviors panel.
