PHP /MYSQL II, ITI-127
PHP is an open-source programming language widely used to extend the capabilities of HTML documents and create dynamic Web applications. This course will introduce additional topics in PHP, building upon the introductory PHP course. Topics include working with files and objects, the use of MySQL, creating and connecting to databases, and data normalization in PHP. Students will create a PHP and MySQL-driven web site as part of the class exerceses and labs.
Technology update: Please bring a Flash Drive/Memory Stick 512MB or larger to class which will enable you to save your class work.
Classroom Hours: 15 Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only.
Textbook: Books may be purchased at the MC Bookstore, or online. You will need to know the CMP#(Continuing Education classes) for the class you are taking in order to look up information about the textbook. Please bring your textbook to the first class session.
Prerequisites: PHP I or equivalent experience.

Upon completion of this course students will be able to:
- Use MySQL to create databases.
- Use PHP to work with database connectivity, develop queries, normalize data.
- Use Content Management Systems based on PHP.
