This is an online (interactive) course. Learn to make information-rich, visually attractive Web sites using effective design principles. Best practices and case studies feature successful Web sites. Topics include optimizing page structure, story boarding, Web writing, image and text placement, powerful graphics, designing and balancing page elements, building energy and focusing user attention, user-centered interfaces, introduction to usability, and common mistakes to avoid. The first hour of this class is dedicated to the orientation to the Elluminate online course delivery software. After registering you must contact Mary Ann Behme at 240-567-5510 at least 3 days prior to class to obtain Elluminate set-up information.
Prerequisites: Computer Basics, Working with Windows or Vista file management or equivalent experience. No prior HTML experience is required.
Technology update: Please bring a Flash Drive/Memory Stick 512MB or larger to class which will enable you to save your class work.
