Building Portfolio Projects
for Program Developers and Web Designers

This course will address programming, trouble-shooting, career and portfolio building topics for web, programming, and database developers taking courses or sequences from Montgomery College’s Information Technology Institute (ITI) for career advancement. 

Topics will include designing a) web site portfolios, b) graphics design portfolios, c) software and database development portfolios, project preparation and delivery, preparing for internships, and current topics in the changing IT marketplace. The course will provide instruction and project assistance on web, software, and database design classroom or internship projects through tutorials, seminars, team problem-solving and troubleshooting and other strategies.  Job interview practice and resume review and development will also be covered.

Upon completion of this course students will be able to:

  1. Design a web, software project and/or database portfolio for use with resumes or job searches;
  2. Prepare an effective resume to supplement or introduce a project portfolio;
  3. Design and execute a web, programming, or database IT project.
