As an educational institution, Montgomery College's ability to promote learning and enhance student success depends upon the competency of the people who work with them. As a result, we are firmly committed to the scholarship, innovation, and development of our employees and our organization. Indeed, the intrinsic values of continuous learning, professional growth, and high performance are woven into the fabric of our well-respected institution.
MCLearns is a coalition of departments and units which provide professional development services to the Montgomery College community of learners. This collaborative effort exemplifies the College’s commitment to student learning and success through the professional development of our faculty, staff, and administrators. The departments include: The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), The Center for Professional & Organizational Development (CPOD), the Office of Distance Learning (ODL), Workforce Development & Continuing Education (WD&CE) and the Office of the Vice President for Academic Initiatives & Partnerships . Based on the premise that individually we are able to provide good programs and services, but working collectively, we are able to provide topnotch programs and services, MCLearns seeks to maximize resources, skills, and expertise through partnership among the member departments and units.
Office of the Vice President for Academic Initiatives & Partnerships

As such, it sponsors major Learning College events for the entire College community. To date, this sponsorship has been executed in concert with the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Center for Professional and Organizational Development. This has occurred under the auspices of MCLearns. Additionally, the Vice President for Academic Initiatives & Partnerships has responsibility for coordinating collegewide initiatives that pertain to academic and institutional effectiveness. The unit collaborates with individuals, departments, and units throughout the institution to plan and carry out these overarching goals.
