Many web pages, especially commercial (.com) web sites, use the web to disseminate information about their product(s) in combination with advertising for the company.  Make sure to critically evaluate any information coming from these types of sites since they may not present negative information or information showing a different point of view.

Ask yourself the following questions:  Is it easy to determine the purpose of the page?  Is the information provided as a public service or is it an attempt to sell their product(s) or service?  Is the information free of advertising or, if there is advertising, is it clearly separated from the information content?
