It is also important to determine the date, or currency, of the materials to see if the information is kept up-to-date.  Also, it is important to determine if any recent developments in the field have been included.

Ask yourself the following questions:  Is it clear when the information was placed on the web?  Is it clear when the information was last revised?  Is it evident that information is kept current?  If the site uses dated information from another source, is the date given for the source used?  What kind of information is it?  It is more critical to have the latest information for some topics such as technology than it is for historical topics, for instance.
