MC Course Reserves for students:
Usage Policies and Loan
Periods:
Most
loan periods for hard copy materials are two hours but this may vary
according to faculty request. Students must present a current Montgomery
College photo I.D. card to use reserve materials. Materials are
primarily restricted to in-house library use. Some Reserve items in
an electronic format do
not have a set loan period but students may have to login to authenticate
that they are a student. Materials in an electronic format can be
downloaded, saved as a file, printed or used in whatever way the faculty
has designated in support of the curriculum.
Accessing Course Reserves & E-Reserves
-
Go to the Library’s online catalog and click on the Course Reserves
tab or you can follow the link on the left.
-
Users can search by course number,
course name, department or instructor. Pages are also browseable by
department or by instructor. Individual materials can be searched by
title or by author.
-
If you are accessing Course Reserves from
off campus, you will need to
login with
MC ID number.
-
When you are on campus, you will not have
to login except when your instructor has assigned an additional password
for his/her materials. Your instructor will provide the
password to the class.
-
When an item indicates that the copy is
located at one of three campus reserve/circulation desks students need
to come to the desk with their student ID and the professor's name and
course number (e.g. EN102). This information can always be found
on the course syllabus.
