Narrowing a Search: Step 1
 

One of the best ways to narrow a search  is to add additional terms and combine them with the connector "AND."  This is called boolean searching.

For example, you could choose a research topic about cell phones that interests you. You could research whether there is a risk of cancer in using cell phones; or how people feel about others using their cell phones in public places such as restaurants.

You could combine the term "cell phones" with "public places" by connecting them with "AND."

cell phones AND public places
