                            Citations: Step 2

The reason you cite your sources is to guard against PLAGIARISM and to support statements made within the text of your paper.  There are different authoritative systems used.  In the nursing program, you will be following the American Psychological Association (APA) style.  APA publishes a handbook on how to cite the various information sources used.  The book is:  Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.  A copies are available at the Reference and Circulation desks.  APA has a web page that can be accessed for further citation information.   The URL is:  http://www.apastyle.org.
