                       Citations: Step 3

 

To cite articles from an electronic database such as Health  Source: Nursing/Academic, you need to follow the example below.  Using the article from our previous search, the APA style format would look like this:

 

   Rudkin, C.L.  (2002). Vegetarian diet planning for adolescents with 

  

        diabetes. Pediatric Nursing, 25(3), 262-263.  Retrieved May 14, 2003,

 

        from Health Source:Nursing/Academic database.

 

Remember that the first line is flush left and the following lines are indented 5 to 7 spaces.  That each line is double spaced and the journal title and volume number are italicizedAuthor names are full last name and initials only for the first and middle names.  The date for Retrieved is the date you print out the article.  The date will be located on the bottom of the printout.  APA style has different formats depending on the format of the source (book, newspaper, etc.)
