                          Scholarly: Step 1

You may be asked to use scholarly journals for your research.  It is important to understand the differences between popular magazines and scholarly journals.  While popular magazines can be useful in providing information on a  variety of topics, they may not be sufficient for supporting papers in the more specialized or advanced courses.  Scholarly journals are published to disseminate research information in a particular field whereas popular magazines introduce a  topic but does not cover it in-depth.
