Scholarly journals will have the following features:

Scholarly journals are peer reviewed or refereed by a board of experts in the
field. This means that the articles are reviewed by experts to ensure that
the information is correct.

The
articles may include an abstract.

The
article is written for a narrow audience such as the professional, professor, or
student in a specific field of study.

The
articles are written by professionals or experts in the field.

The
author's qualifications will usually be provided.

A
bibliography or citation to other articles will usually be present.

Language
in the article may be specific to the subject area and not always understood by
the general public.

There
may be many joint authors.
